Low Speed Dental Bearings

Dentists and hygienists use equipment with low speed motors and interchangeable heads that all have precision dental bearings. Such equipment must be instantaneously responsive, lightweight, convenient to operate, reliable, and durable. These capabilities depend on the small but critical bearings incorporated in such dental handpieces.

Balls are made of:

  • 440C stainless steel
  • Silicon Nitride (ceramic)
  • Titanium carbide coated 440C stainless steel
  • Other hybrid options

They are constructed into full-shoulder designed bearings in standard crown and ribbon retainers or custom designed retainers and shields. This prevents disassembly during installation and maintenance handling.

These anti-friction bearings utilize such retainer material as Phenolic and Torlon (polyamide-imide), Teflon and stainless steel seals, and are lubricated with food-safe, chemically stable grease to optimize bearing life and operational efficiency, making slow speed dental bearings:

  • corrosive resistant
  • wear resistant
  • autoclave resistant

These radial dental bearings are user friendly, ready for use, and offer a cost effective solution to handpiece manufacturers and maintenance technicians alike. Standardized sizing allows interchange of slow speed dental bearings in popular dental handpieces.Radial bearings are designed with a forward or backward installation flexibility feature.
